Element Science Announces Douglas Devine as New CEO

Element Science, an innovative health technology company developing a pioneering digital wearable platform for high-risk cardiovascular patients, announced Douglas Devine as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Doug brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across healthcare technology, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing, with a track record of scaling companies, driving operational excellence, and successfully leading organizations through periods of transformation and growth.

Prior to joining Element Science, Doug served as Chief Financial Officer of Evident Scientific. Before that, he held several executive roles at iRhythm Technologies, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, and served as Interim Chief Executive Officer in 2021. During his tenure, he helped guide the company through significant operational expansion and commercial growth.

Earlier in his career, Doug served as Chief Financial Officer of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, a leading global semiconductor foundry, where he led the company’s financial strategy and helped drive operational improvements at scale. He has also held CFO roles at UTAC, Soraa, and Stion, and previously served as Vice President of Finance at NVIDIA and Senior Controller at Intel.

Doug began his career in finance and executive leadership roles in the technology sector and has extensive experience in fundraising, financial strategy, operational scaling, and global business leadership.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.  

Doug joins Element Science at a pivotal moment as we build on the incredible foundation built by our Founder, Uday Kumar, MD, and our team to commercialize this transformative technology and advance our purpose of Delivering More Tomorrows. Uday will continue on as a Senior Advisor to support Doug and the Company in various medical, commercial and product capacities.

Eric Samuels joins as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Eric is a seasoned finance executive with over 30 years of experience across financial strategy, growth transformation, and operational optimization. He brings deep expertise in corporate governance, capital strategy, and M&A, and has served as a CFO, board member, and senior finance leader across a range of organizations, including iRhythm Technologies, Fortune 50 companies, and newly public businesses.

Sandeep Sachdeva joins as Vice President of Strategy, Commercial Operations, and Chief of Staff to the CEO. Sandeep is a dynamic leader with a strong track record of building and scaling commercial operations to drive revenue growth and improve business performance. He previously served as Vice President of Go-to-Market Strategy and Operations at Freshworks, and has held leadership roles at iRhythm Technologies, Unity, and NetApp.
