Summary of Role
We are seeking an algorithm engineer and research scientist to join our Research and
Development group. This individual will be responsible for developing and testing machine
learning and signal processing algorithms for biological signal classification. This work will
involve using and inventing time-series signal processing and machine learning techniques to
outperform state-of-the-art algorithms and trained experts. The challenge involves maintaining
algorithm performance in home-use conditions, with a battery operated device.
Deliverables:
- Mine biological data obtained using different sensors for physiologically relevant markers
- Develop algorithm approaches using DSP and machine learning principles to classify and
predict cardiac states - Learn physiology of heart states to inform feature generation
- Report or present results using appropriate statistical metrics
- Collaborate with materials, hardware, and design teams to evaluate key functional areas of
device - Test protocol and report generation which clearly capture results of development
Qualifications:
- EE or CS background required (M.S. or B.S with 6+ years of experience)
- Expert proficiency in signal processing analysis software (e.g., Matlab, Python)
- Signal processing fundamentals with particular focus on time-frequency techniques (e.g,
Fourier and wavelet filtering) and descriptive statistics - Machine learning fundamental algorithms including linear and logistic regression, Bayesian
networks, and decision trees - Appreciation for quality system, risk management, and medical product development
processes - Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Bonus: knowledge of on-chip signal processing
